All figures are expressed in value (in €).
The quantities (unit or weight) are available solely for the most detailed level (NC8).
Figures on imports and exports of some 9,500 products from or to about 250 countries are retrieved, on a monthly basis for the preceding three years and on a quarterly and yearly basis for the preceding five years.
The figures are compiled according to the Community concept for Belgium and according to the national concept for Belgium and the regions. The Community concept applies for all cross-border movements of goods, including purchases (imports) and sales (re-exports) in Belgium between non-resident businesses. The national concept, on the other hand, refers solely to cross-border movements of goods involving a resident business as counterparty.
As a result of the yearly adjustments introduced by Eurostat in the lists of country and product codes, certain time series may be interrupted (if a country code or product code disappears) or may display disruptions (in case of consolidation of various codes, splitting of a code or change in the meaning of a code).
