Due to the introduction of the harmonised NACE codes within the INA, a break in series by branches of activities occurs between 2008 and 2009. The results concerning the regional distribution of the imports and exports of goods and services are in line with the October 2019 version of the national accounts from data year 2009 onwards. The results up to and including 2008 are still in line with those of the October 2018 version of the national and will not be modified for the time being. Due to rounding, differences between National and Regional Accounts can occur.
In 2018, some Walloon municipalities were assigned to another administrative district and in 2019 some Flemish municipalities merged. Consequently, the composition of the districts Hasselt, Maaseik, Ath, Charleroi, Mouscron, Soignies, Thuin and Tournai changed and two new districts were created: Tournai-Mouscron and La Louvière. According to the NUTS 2021(Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics), all historical series have to be adapted. The results from 2018 onwards are already in line with the new nomenclature. So, temporarily, there is a break in the series between the years 2017 and 2018. The results for the period before 2018 will be adapted during the next benchmark revision (2025). The composition of the provinces and regions is not affected.
